Boudoir Sessions

An Editorial Study of Women.

An intimate, film-forward portrait experience designed to feel honest, artful, and entirely your own.

This isn’t trend-driven boudoir. It’s not overly posed or performative, and it’s definitely not about becoming someone else for the camera. It’s really about seeing yourself clearly.

I photograph boudoir the same way I photograph weddings, with intention, patience, and a deep respect for light. I shoot on film and digital, and I’m always paying attention to how light falls across skin, how you move, how you naturally settle into yourself. I’m not looking for forced expressions. I’m looking for what already feels real.

Most women who book have never done anything like this before, and that’s completely normal. You don’t need to know how to pose. You don’t need to arrive feeling confident. You don’t need to change anything about your body or your life beforehand.

You just need to show up, and I’ll guide the rest.

The Experience

Sessions take place in private suites or thoughtfully selected locations throughout Charleston with beautiful natural light.

Music is usually playing. We move at an unhurried pace. I guide you through everything, from where your hands rest to how you move through light in a way that feels natural and strong.

There is no pressure to perform and no expectation to know how to be “sexy.”

The goal is simple. Honest, artful portraits that feel like you.

You just need to show up. I’ll take care of the rest.

Who this is for

This experience is for women who are ready to step into something unfamiliar. Women who are willing to trust the process.

You do not need to know how to pose. You do not need to arrive with a plan. You simply need to be willing to trust direction and allow yourself to settle into the process.

I guide the session completely. The outcome reflects what you are drawn to. Some images feel soft and understated. Some feel strong and expressive. It depends on what feels aligned for you and what you want your gallery to hold.

There is no one way this needs to look.

Some women bring simple wardrobe pieces. Some prefer structured styling. One client once brought body oil because she wanted a luminous, editorial finish to her skin. Every session is shaped around the individual.

You just need to be open. I will take care of the rest.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • A signed agreement and a 50 percent non-refundable retainer are required to secure your session date. The remaining balance is due one week prior to your session.

Sessions are not held without a retainer.

  • Once you submit your inquiry, I will personally respond within 24 hours. From there, you’ll let me know which session you’re interested in and we’ll begin refining the details.

We’ll discuss location preferences, wardrobe ideas, and whether you’d like professional hair and makeup included. I will then propose a few available dates that align with both of our schedules.

Once we select a date, I send over a simple agreement and invoice to officially reserve your session.

  • Sessions take place in private residences, curated hotel suites, or carefully selected studio spaces depending on the aesthetic and level of privacy you’re drawn to.

If your collection includes a secured hotel or studio location, I handle booking the space once your session is officially reserved. The cost of the room or studio rental is included in the session investment unless otherwise discussed.

If you prefer to host the session in your own home or private residence, we will assess the light and layout beforehand to ensure the space photographs beautifully.

  • No. Most of the women I photograph have never done this before. I guide you through everything from where your hands rest to how you move through light. You will never be left wondering what to do.

  • Most couples reserve their date 8–14 months in advance. Spring and fall Charleston dates tend to book quickly.

  • You never have to show more than you want to. Some of my favorite images are the most covered and understated. A button down shirt, a knit sweater, a slip dress. Boudoir is about presence, not exposure.

  • Wardrobe does not need to be elaborate. It simply needs to feel aligned with you.

For visual inspiration on styling, mood, and natural posing, I’ve curated a Pinterest board that reflects the aesthetic of my work. It’s less about trends and more about texture, light, and subtle movement.

    Explore it here.

Simple pieces photograph beautifully. Think in layers and textures rather than outfits — a favorite bra and underwear set, an oversized button-down, a silk slip, a knit sweater, or even a jacket that feels elegant. Bring a few options and we’ll refine together.

If you’re shopping for lingerie, some classic, timeless brands clients often love are:

    • French Laundry Intimates
    Araks
    Moxy Intimates
    Fleur du Mal
    Cosabella
    Natori
    Simone Pérèle
    Bluebella
    Kat The Label
    Etam

These brands tend to photograph well (soft fabrics, beautiful lines, and textures) and feel elevated without being overly trendy.

The goal is comfort and confidence — pieces that feel like you, not something you think you’re “supposed to wear.”

  • Yes, thoughtfully. I remove temporary distractions such as blemishes or bruises while preserving skin texture and natural detail. My approach to retouching is refined and restrained. You will still look like yourself.

  • If your session is intended as a gift or tied to a specific milestone, I recommend booking at least six to eight weeks in advance. This allows time for scheduling, preparation, the session itself, and full gallery delivery.

If you plan to order an heirloom album, I recommend booking at least twelve to fourteen weeks in advance. Albums require additional time for image selection, custom design, proof approval, and professional printing. Rushing this process is never ideal, especially if the album is intended as a gift.

If you are working with a specific deadline, let me know when you inquire so we can determine the best timeline together.
