and the moments beneath it
ON ATMOSPHERE
I married my husband in Umbria, Italy in August 2021 at a 17th-century villa tucked into the hills. We invited our favorite people to meet us there, and to our delight, so many of them came.
For a week, we gathered around long tables beneath olive trees, eating pasta made by the nonna’s who ran the kitchen with decades of tradition behind them. Linen napkins. Wine that never seemed to empty. Dinners that lingered. And no one checked their phone.
That week reshaped how I think about celebration.
Since then, I’ve cared about atmosphere. Lighting. Pace. Creating space for moments to unfold instead of forcing them into a timeline.
I’m drawn to historic architecture, clean lines, and the way light moves across a space. I notice symmetry, shadow, and the small details that give a place its character.
Tailored silhouettes. Heirloom jewelry. Handwritten vows that leave no dry eye in the room — even from the ones who swore they wouldn’t cry.
While I gravitate toward neutrals, I’m not afraid of contrast — a floral print, a pop of color, or a moment that interrupts the symmetry just enough.
At home, there’s always music playing. We don’t commit to genres. We commit to the mood. I’ll always choose candlelight over overhead lighting, film grain over flawless — warmth over glare.
Now it’s editing during nap time, stepping on tiny trucks, and refilling iced coffee. Motherhood has made me steady under pressure and aware of how quickly everything changes.
That perspective shapes how I move through a wedding day.
I’m calm. Focused. Emotionally invested. I’ll fix your veil, smooth a timeline shift, and catch the moment before you even realize it’s happening.
My work resonates most with couples who care about how it feels just as much as how it looks.
I’m not chasing perfection.
I’m preserving essence.
I’m drawn to the subtle things — the unscripted glance, the shift in energy, the weight of a moment landing.
Long after the dress is packed away and the music fades, the images won’t just show you what happened.
They’ll bring you back to the way it felt.
I believe your wedding should feel like you — unforced, beautiful, and fully present.
I photograph with film because it slows everything down. It asks for intention. It rewards honesty.
If you’re planning something meaningful and thoughtfully designed, I would love to hear about it.
